Beni Arashiro was born in Kanagawa Japan. Her mother is from Okinawa, Japan, and her father is an American. Beni has grown up under the American Culture influence her whole life. She currentley attends an American High School or College in Japan. Her favorite TV programs are MTV and Black Entertainment TV, and her favorite magazines are XXL, Vibe, and Seventeen. She admires Alicia Keys and Janet Jackson, which you can see in some of her songs. She was one of the finalists for one of the Japan's leading contest, Oscar Promotion's, "Kokumin-teki Bishojo Contest (National Beauty Contest)."
From 2008-Present
Since 2008 Beni has left Avex and made a switch to Universal Japan writing her own songs, it was officially announced in October 2008. She has since then changed her stage name to BENI. In June 2008 BENI was featured on a song with Dohzi-T called Mo Ichi do... This sold two million ringtone downloads. She now has 4 singles and 1 album under her belt with her new label. Hopefully with the new label Universal Japan will do well by the talented BENI (unlinke Avex) and get her the success she deserves!
